The anatomy dissection hall... Found it on my fren's friendster photos... "Grabbed" it... Hehehe... So this is it, no AC, and the windows are directly facing the corridor (outside of class room) I shown last time... For us this room doesn't gives you any creepy feeling at all... Haha... Say hi to the two fellas there...

Information overload again...
It happens everytime exams' here... Haha... Really got crazy cramming all the stupid names into the brain... Tomorrow's anatomy... Topics are those left out by the previous exams... Seems less but dunno why I just cant master them... Haha... And now I'm sitting here, signifying the end of my Anatomy revision... Let what will happen to happen... Hahaha...
At the same time posted some shits here and there on friendster, as well as admiring the pictures, showing their nice living environment... Hahaha... Make me envy only lah... Hmm... Maybe I can take an upclose with the fountain... But wait, it's not yet ready, WAKAKAKAKAKAKKA... Oh blary shit...
Me and 6 other Malay friends going to Mangalore-Manipal-Bangalore this coming May holiday... Will be meeting those fellas in Manipal... But I think it's kinda short... Less than 1 day only... But they still got class oso, so no point stay ther oso.. Hahaha... Anyway I'm looking forward to the Bangalore trip... Hopefully I can take some nice pictures to make myself "proud"... Hahaha...
Another problem... My eldest brother wanted to be invited to this blog... Haih... How leh... Maybe I'll chop of this old blog at a point... And start everything new... But then that's not the point oso... Hahaha... Duhh... Forget about it first... Till next time..
P / S : Blardy hell.... Fuck the hormones in physio... Study sooooooo many things only shit comes up... Grrr....

Denture building 1
Just as I said... Gotta show you all what we did over here after the cube making shit... Hehe...
Now we are constructing a removable complete denture (those people wear when they lose the whole set of dentition), which is the exercise for 1st year... Before going any further, I should clarify some terms I'm going to use... Hehe... Obviously for construction of denture, we can't just work on the patient's mouth, thus we have to replicate the oral cavity so that the patient can go back home first while we are working on that replica, right? Thus here comes the term impression and cast.
- Impression -
Not the abstract impression, but the concrete thing. It's made by using some kind of soft material (where the consistency is something like play dough, or better if less viscous) and press it on the oral structure and then let the material becomes hard (mostly chemical setting reaction) and then take it out.
The correct definition for impression is 'the negative replica of oral cavity made by using impression material'.
- Cast -
So the impression is made, and it's something like the 'negative' of oral cavity, where those empty space in oral cavity is filled (in impression) and those filled space of oral cavity is empty (in impression). We can't work in a 'negative' right? Just like the negative of pictures we take, we just can't make out who the h*** is the person in a film unless we develop it back into a 'positive' right?
Ok so now we'll be pouring something into the impression which will set inside the impression... Yeah, you can call the impression as a "mold" at this point... No no, we are not going to pour metal, haha... but just plaster, or gypsum (we have a whole chapter for gypsum, hehe)...
So as you can imagine, cast is the 'positive replica of oral cavity', and the material used is usually rigid after setting. Yeap, we desired the impression material to be rigid too after setting, but one more thing is we want the impression material to be easily removed, or the cast can be easily obtained... Yeah, yeah, we have to study the ideal properties of all the materials...
- Procedure -
Yeah, here comes the main part... Of course the first thing in denture construction is to make an impression by using what we call tray (impression material is loaded on the tray then only we take impression, don't tell me you imagined a dentist to stuff a whole chunk of dough-like substance in the mouth for the impression... Hahaha...)... There're a few types of trays also, but I'm going to tell you the two types - Stock tray and custom tray... You should be able to guess by the name – One is available in the market and one is custom made...
And what's the different? Yeah, the proper procedure after making the 1st impression is to pour Plaster of Paris (Type II gypsum product) to get the cast, we call it as Primary cast... Then on the primary cast we're going to construct the custom tray (using acrylic resin or shellac base plate, explained below), and then using the tray, together with another more proper impression material, we're going to make the impression again, which by right should be more accurate lah, known as secondary impression... So again we pour the cast and now it's known as the secondary cast or master cast on which we are going to work ...
Shown below is a metal stock tray (you can see tray only, the impression material's supposed to be on the tray, but was completely destroyed when recovering the cast) with a cast poured using dental stone (Type III gypsum product)... Oh ya anyway, we are now learning the pre-clinical work, so no real patient mouth is involved... Hehe... These are made using models provided by the lab...
So let's assume that we've gotten the master cast... The next step will be constructing what we called temporary denture base (denture base is the part of a denture without the artificial teeth) by using shellac base plate (brown colour one) which has the thermoplastic property (soften after heating), I can't take the picture of the temporary denture base alone because that time Vidya (the bitch) wants us to do fast fast... And she actually broke my first work because she's not satisfied with it... (Yeah.. Blardy bitch she is..)
So we gotta continue the next step... Known as occlusal rim, using wax... We are to build the wax-made occlusal rim on top of the temporary denture base, the occlusal rim is going to be a base where the artificial teeth lodge... Hard to tell you in words but see the pictures below and you shall understand, the brown part is the denture base and the red part is the wax-made occlusal rim... If you wonder how come the cast is soooo beautiful, yeah, it's different cast... Haha... Vidya wants us to get this cast to work on only... It's made by the lab lah, using molds - that's why it's so cantik-molek...
And several pictures when the upper and lower part is put together...
And now we are going to mount the cast together with the occlusal rim on a err... machine known as articulator, because by mounting it on articulator, the upper and lower part is fixed in a fixed position, thus we can open and close the casts as if it's in a real person's mouth, or put it in another term, to simulate the temporomandibular joint (it's the joint of your mandible to the skull)...
Oh ya, the mounting is done using plaster again... Hehe... If you can't imagine how the thing can open and close... Err... The purple thing is the fulcrum point, and the metal bar in front there is attached to the upper piece, ok? Still cannot? Nevermind, I'll show it in the final process where all the teeth has been arranged on the occlusal rim...
So now... The whole thing is ready for teeth setting...
Those are just acrylic teeth, or put it in another term, plastic teeth... In which the plastic is no ordinary plastic... Quite hard and durable instead... Plastic is a very broad class you know... We called it resin... Hehe... In case you wonder what the denture base is made up of, it's also acrylic resin...
We start with the upper anteriors because the teeth of upper anteriors have to follow a plane (occlusal plane) where the tips of certain teeth (central incisors and canines) have to touch the plane while the lateral incisors have to be slightly above the plane... And also all the inclinations is another headache... Because the blardy lecturers have different comments everytime... Sometimes today after you let him (the ngiau ji)/her (the bitch) correct the arrangement and don't touch it, tomorrow you let them see again they say it's wrong... Duhh...
So after the upper anteriors we'll arrange the lower anteriors according to the upper ones... Now only I know the relationships of upper and lower ones are supposed to be like this...
My own teeth are not like tat... Far away from normal... Haha... The lower should be behind of upper (known as overjet, while mine is opposite) as well as the lower and upper does overlap (known as overbite)...
And now we are ready for the posteriors... [to be continued]
*: Exams coming, internet's lousy, I've used 3 days to upload the photos here... Haha... So expect another delay again...

Back online...
Hope I can say so... But still it's Indian standard lah... Low capacity... Simply simply it gets jammed up... Haha... So till next time then... Internal's end of this month... And I'm here for 7 months already... Whoosh.. Haha...
Maybe next time I'll feature the steps of constructing a pre-clinical denture (As we are doing now)...

One minute...
When I feel like posting something new... Duh... Here comes the give from the IIs... The internet is down for one month, and I don't remember whether i mentioned that how their 1 minute can become half an hour... Their problem is they can't do it in that time and they still wanna say like tat... "One minute, one minute, OK?" WTF...
Doing this in CC... Risking my password being eavedropped... Haha... Anyway just to tell that I'm still doing fine here... Just in the middle of thinking whether to go back in May onot... Haha... It's indeed getting A LOT hotter over here... Most probably if nothing special that needs me in Msia, I wont go back I think... Hehe...
That's all for this time... Studies over here is getting tougher... 2nd internals for anatomy was over... I think I'm going to fail that too... hahaha...
PLEASE PRAY FOR ME THAT I CAN GET BACK THE INTERNET VERY VERY SOON... Thanks... Haha...

Rest in peace...
I now believe what is said in the JetAirways' brochure... Travelling on land is actually much more dangerous than travel by air, we are often blinded by the great publicity when air accidents happened, thinking that travel by air is much more dangerous...
I had a classmate passed away in an accident... Though not very close, but he sat near to me and MY during form 4 and 5... We bugged each other some times... And some times listened to his jokes, and some times his funny talk with Chee Siong... Can be said as close gua... I still remember asking him about the handphone market a few months ago online...
Anyhow felt kinda sad because some one close had passed away... I never expect that the last meetup when I was in Malaysia was the last time to see his face which has grown slightly puffy than last time in the school... He said that he's going to surpass me... Sigh...
Rest in peace... That's all I can say... Must be very careful over here... The traffic here is much more worse... I just heard that there's an accident in front of our college between a lorry and a scooter... The two fellas on the scooter died on the spot... People here drive more dangerously than people in Malaysia...
Anyhow, rest in peace, forgive me for all my offences last time... I look forward to seeing you bulkier than me over there... Your MSN contact will lie forever in my list...
Update : I can't believe it... It's a horrible accident... Oh dear... Why... There's still much more people in the world who deserve that... Certainly not him... It's too cruel... Sigh... I really hope for his peaceful departure...

Quick post...
Doing this just to show some interesting pics... Anyway Biochem and Physio really nearly took my life away... Luckily not much things that I left out came out... Hopefully can pass... And immediately after the exam we went to town... And I bought a electric mosquito swatter... And this is my collection... (in 4-5 days lah, hahaha...)
Anyway it doesn't smell very good... Sort of like burnt plastic because I think the swatter really "fried" them up...
Anyway please head to my webshots' "1st year" album to see what's red banana... Hehehe... http://community.webshots.com/user/ronostalgia
Anyway another busy week is following up... The bitch just broke my temporary denture base... Hahaha... It's actually their fault you know, aih... I also don't know how to say... Maybe it's my fault... Hahaha... It's just happen that they call people out according to name list to check... So I don't have the chance to show early loh... If show early and got destroyed by the monstrous bitch, I might be able to complete another one on that day itself... Babi...
Oh ya, don't worry, we got very VERY big mandarin oranges over here... Just that it costs around RM1+ each... Hehehe...

Shits coming...
Don't know why I am spending time doing this... Haha... Exams coming... Tomorrow the stupid Environmental Studies and Monday the double combo killer – Physio and Biochem... Argh...
Still remember last time we studied about the clotting mechanism in Biology? Weren't we feeling so proud to be able to remember this?
Now in Physio, what we need to know is this...
Nah... please don't get angry... I am just trying to revise... Somehow I had to look into book for some details... Hehehe... And if you are asking what those Roman numbers are, it's the 12 clotting factors that we used to know last time... And now we have to memorize them all...
I – Fibrinogen
II – Prothrombin
III – Thromplastin (also tissue factor)
IV – Ionic Calcium
V – Labile factor
VII – Proconvertin
VIII – Anti hemophilic factor
IX – Christmas factor
X – Stuart Prower factor
XI – Plasma thromboplastin antecedent
XII – Hageman factor (also contact factor)
XIII – Fibrin stabilising factor
Hmm... I said 12 right, how come it's XIII? Haha... Because there's no factor VI... I also don't know why... Hahaha... But I just did a research... It's another more complicated diagram... Walaueh...
And lastly... This is just around 1% of what is in the Physio subject... WTF... I'll be so dead... Till next time dude... Bye...

Another lame post...
Crystallizing this while downloading the new songs by 张韶涵... Hehehe... It's not easy though, because our internet is just like any other usual university's internet – there's a f***ing firewall!!!... Hence to circumvent it, the speed is greatly reduced... And this firewall of ours has a name – sumthing like SonicWall... Anyhow luckily the firewall is still not that strict to impose a whitelist, just a URL blocking blacklist, which causes certain URL with certain words to be in accessible, such as MP3, game and some sex related word... Haha... And luckily the firewall is only till that extent and doesn't go through the contents of the page... Haha...
This is just another post in the hope that the blogging spirit can be revived... I think it's possible because I've revived Red Alert 2 over here... Although I think it won't last long... Hahaha... I am wondering whether some one will come out with RA2 version of DOTA... Hahaha... Or maybe Generals version of DOTA also can... Hehe...
ODS theory internal was over yesterday... Studied 1 day before... Luckily still can manage to finish because the kind CRRIs (interns) gave us the possible questions... Hehehe.. Anyhow the questions they give are almost everything in the topic already... Hahaha... And then after that we are supposed to have Environmental Studies internal also... But the class went riot to demand for cancelling the test... The teacher said no and they go to the principal... Walau eh... And then the test was postponed... Hahaha... The teacher sure sibeh behsong liao... Actually I myself also haven't study for it yet... Haha...
The whole next week gotta prepare for the internal for Biochem and Physio... Haih... The only thing I can answer well is cardiac cycle, because last week the practical lecturer asked us to write something about it... Hahaha... This is kinda stupid because the two subjects are combined into one paper... Means there's only one essay and 4 shortnotes (can be called short essays) for each subject... Siao... And I think almost every class the lecturer also say that topic they taught that day might come out in essays... And you know what? Those MBBS students have a few papers for each subject, i.e. a few papers for Anatomy, a few papers for Biochem and a few papers for Physio... But we have to study that much... Duh...
And yesterday I did my mixing test for DM too... I chose to mix alginate... The first time to mix an alginate... Hahaha... Don't know how to use the measuring cup... Hahaha... And then after measuring the water I added the whole spoon of powder directly... Forgot to sift it... Hahaha... Then I said to the ngiau ji can I do again, he say he can't see my mistake then he just simply take and remove some excess water and then give back to me... No mistake ah? Then don't care loh... Mix mix mix... Eew... So kering one... And it's actually GRAINY you know... And the ngiau ji wanted to see it... And then he said it's correct... And showed the whole class... Telling that I am the only one so far he tested to get that kind of mix... WTF... Hahaha... Paiseh paiseh...
I think that's all this time... I can see a more busy life is coming... Hopefully I still have the mood to blog...
And to those who's going to Manipal... I shall say "WELCOME TO INDIA"... Bwaaaaaaahahahahahaha... Remember to prepare yourselves when you're dealing with the Indians over here... I am seriously telling you to PREPARE yourselves... You'll need it... Really...
Now ignore this part... It's for myself only... 失去了才懂得要珍惜,这一次会不会也一样?...

Back in the mood...
Just another mixed up post... It has been a week since I left my beloved Malaysia, everything seems to settle down again over here...
曾经沧海难为水,除却巫山不是云... Quite like this proverb, though it's more for one's own wife... Anyhow it describes things over here very well.. Hahaha... Lemme do some direct translation, correct me if I am wrong... Hehe... "Once you've been to the sea of Cang, there's no water in this world is nicer than the water in the sea of Cang; Once you've been to the mountain of Wu, there's no cloud in this world nicer than the cloud seen on the mountain of Wu"... Understood?... Haha...
Stil not in the mood for heavy study yet... Stupid physio and biochem... Both so big the subject and we are having only one combined paper for them... Shit... Yesterday was the viva for DM... I guessed it went ok for me... At least it's satisfiable for the ngiau ji... Haha... He shook hand with me oso, congratulating me for being able to answer all the questions (Actually got one or two I can't answer, but oh well...) The viva should have signified the end of 1st DM internal exam... But today the ngiau ji made announcement again saying that everyone did poorly in viva... And next week they will reconduct the viva again... OMFG... On the same day itself we have another 2 exams leh... WTF... I think mayb the siao por (psycho woman) didn't get to viva me so she wanted to do it again... Haha...
Visited a very luxurious dental clinic yesterday... Gum pain and at the same time for a checkup because I've not visited a dentist since I left CH... Haha... The dental clinic was owned by a lecturer in our dental college... And all the other dentists working there are also lecturers in the college... Haha... Reverse back to the viva first... There's another female lecturer happen to sit together in the same table with me and the ngiau ji when I am doing my viva... So she happen to know that I am able to answer all the questions... And did help me clarify my answer when the ngiau ji can't catch my English... Haha... Or when I've gone too far also... Haha...
So now back to the dental clinic, the female lecturer happens to work there also... So she recognised me at once and start telling the story to the dentist in charge of me... Haha... So paiseh... And the pain turns out to be an ulcer on the gum only... Haha... At the same time he found a cavity just begin to develop... So I asked for a filling appointment next Thursday, and the price turns out Rs. 750 per filling... WTF... More expensive than KL standard... Hahha... Anyway the clinic is really really very high class lah... And the dental chair also very high tech one... Never once in my life I've seen dental chair so nice... Hahaha...
Haih...
