Our college is in college month again, yup, principal said that he chose to change it to april so that the tents can be rented at a cheaper rate in summer, due to no rain... But it's complete bullshit because they collect even more money from us compared to last time's college day...

For the first time,o ur college invited PIDC as one of the batches in our college month events...

And lastly, spikes are despiked, but still some new spikes appear... duhh... (Don't bother about this one)

It's a Sunday...

It's a Sunday, the only day for us take a break... Yes, we have classes from Mon to Sat... How different is it from life in Malaysia... Haih...

Usually I'll wake up late (earliest 12pm) and waste my time on my comp before taking my brunch (breakfast + lunch)... Which is usually some bread with tuna and a cup of Milo or Ipoh White Coffee (by Super - 我叫你试！！！LOL)... Then I'll waste my time on comp again or maybe sleep back, LOL... And by the time it is night, I'll have to prepare for Monday's class... How boring... How unenjoyable... How insufficient is our resting day...

Today is no different day, woke up late because of DOTA till 4am yesterday, LOL... And realised how IMBA Broodmother is, in the latest version...

Still have no idea what's so sentimental to talk about... Haha... OK then, let me talk about one of the favourite hero in DOTA - Silencer...

Many people never realise the full potential of a Silencer - a deadly DPS (Damage per second) machine, although not comparable to Razor, but still if he's teamed up with suitable team mates, he is as deadly as Razor...

His high DPS comes from his 2nd skill - Glaives of Wisdom, which is an arrow-skill (auto-castable), which many people have failed to know the "painfulness" of this skill... It's the bread and butter skill of Silencer, for him to get last hit easily and for him to harass with cheap mana cost... The additional damage might seem puny and laughable at first, but once he reaches lvl 7, basically no one will be able to deny creep from him, even more than that if the Silencer is using the skill fiercely to harass, he'll be able to chase the enemy away...

Even if you are only having 2 circlets + 2 ironwood branches, by level 7 you'll be having 66-88 physical damage +29 pure/unreduced damage per Glaives casted, i.e. around 100 damage per cast, which should be very useful in last hitting the creeps...

But anyhow there's one very important point for one to be a good Silencer - use manual cast for last hitting creeps and harassing, so that you don't waste your mana... And manual casting the skill on hero means no creep will target you, so if the hero is hesitating to back off you can just give them a few glaives to make them back off immediately, if they try to attack you back, they'll draw the creeps attention and the condition get worse for them... And then there's this animation cancelling regarding any arrow skill, it's for you to land multiple blows of manual casting Glaives by casting and then quickly issue a command to move forward...

And furthermore on our item build, if you feel like playing more unsafely by not buying bracers, upgrade your 2 circlets into nulls and taadaa, your damage rises up to 74-96 physical damage +34 pure damage which means more than 100 damage per cast, which is perfect for last hitting creeps and harassing...

Even if you feel like playing safely by buying bracers, you still get 68-90 physical damage +30 pure damage, which is still ok... And mind you, the number will grow nicely when you level up, and the numbers I mentioned is at level 7 only...

In short, the power of Silencer lies in farming and lane control (by active harassing)... Anyway there's this downside of Silencer - no escape mechanism... When the enemies are in place to gank you, there's basically no escape for Silencer, which therefore, a Silencer should be well aware of ganks, missing heroes, etc...

Further item builds include Power Threads and Midas (if one can farm it within 20 minutes of game), then Guinsoo (before 6.50) or Orchid... Guinsoo was a nice item on him as hex is a very powerful disable, but as the change in new version doesn't favor him so much, Orchid should be considered more if your team has certain disables already... After the first damage item, one should consider buying Hyperstone --> Cuirass or Skadi for its nice stats boost (the frost attack doesn't stack)...

Of course, once you started getting 2 Oblivion staffs, you can turn on Autocast of the Glaives... And just for your information, your additional damage from Glaives will be around +60 during mid game, which is pretty obscene, and can go near +100 once everyone's level is maxed (which is rare)... And that damage is UNREDUCED, even better than a sacred relic... Anyhow, you'll have to farm properly and prevent unnecessary deaths...

One might consider Mekansm as an early game item as its heal is pretty useful when ganked, and the +stats and +armor is not bad as well, needless to mention the regen provided...

About the skill build, your primary aim is to max 2nd skill, 3rd skill is optional (or a must if you are laning against Sand king, or other heroes who can combo their spells), ulti is necessary for support or even an escape mechanism... Otherwise just up Stats all the way (which is crucial if you are getting Nulls and not Bracers)... And I have to stress this: First skill is totally useless and must be ignored, only sissy use 1st skill to harass...

That's all I can say, if Silencer is allowed to grow undisturbed in a game, he'll be a deadly DPS machine, anyhow the DPS is lost whenever someone use BKB or Repel, keep that in mind...

What to delete...

My desktop is a real clutter, which reflects my personality exactly (Hmm... Isn't it similar to something in RE2? LOL). Oh yeah in case you are wondering, I mean my comp's desktop.

But anyway, I've just performed a cleanup, now my icons are in 5 rows. It was something like 8-9 rows before cleanup. LOL.

And currently I'm having quite a few games in my comp, wondering whether to clean them up also:

1) War3TFT - a must for DOTA, haha

2) Need for speed most wanted - hanging there for quite some time because I'm too lazy to complete the police chasing thingy, many times when I've accumulated quite a lot of points, my laptop just get too excited and overheated

3) RE4 - slow progress due to scary atmosphere. LOL.

4) Diablo II LOD - already in Hell difficulty, slow progress due to the high risk of getting killed by the monsters, really. I'm currently a level 81 meteorb sorceress. And I never cheated!!!

5) Sudoku and Hexic Deluxe

6) S.W.I.N.E - got it free in Chip DVD, LOL. Don't really like it on the first try, anyone think that it's nice?

7) Emulators - PS, GBA, Neogeo - notably KOF series, SNES

8) C&C3 Tiberium Wars - Currently at the battle of GDI in front of the NOD temple, I really suck in playing offensively, can't win the battle because what I do was just sitting there happily massing my mammoths without taking active actions until my tiberium has completely depleted, and then the enemies are already much stronger when I reach that point... LOL.

And currently I feel like playing Sims 2, LOL. Oh yeah and anyone heard of 凤凰传奇? If not try searching for the song 自由飞翔 by them, the song is pretty interesting, LOL.

2nd year...

Felt so sorry to abandon this blog, but life's too busy over here, can't be helped...

Watching my desktop having the draft for the last post, dated 8th August last year, where my 1st year theory exams have just finished, and now, I'm in the middle of 2nd year, counting the days for 2nd year finals...

2nd year is busier than 1st year, I didn't really expect it to be this busy, really, because I've thought 1st year is busy enough already... Basically there's classes everyday except Sundays, and that particular day passes quickly like nothing and before we realise it, it's Monday again...

Maybe it's my problem in time management, but the truth is: I'm not that kind of nerd (as most of you know) and I'm not having time to do my own things... Everyday we're pressured with current assignments and upcoming tests (big and small), and even the practical works in dental college became more difficult because the lecturer in charge (ya the Vidya bitch) has become even bitchier...

Many things happened since the last post, I've been back to Malaysia twice in this period, which was eventful and I don't know how to pour it out in words, thus I can only keep it inside my own memory...

Let's talk about the subjects in my second year... Again it's similar to last year, we've medical college subjects (Microbiology, Pathology and Pharmacology) and dental college sujects (Preclinical Prosthodontics, Preclinical Conservative Dentistry, Oral Biology = Anatomy, Histology as well as Tooth morphology)... Fortunately we don't have rubbish subject this year (last year it was Environmental Studies), but anyway it doesn't really matter because this year's subjects are hellish enough already...

Microbiology, a subject deals with microorganisms, where you'll have to remember names like Corynbacterium diphtheriae or Clostridium perfringens or maybe a more famous one Mycobacterium tuberculosis, some even are not microorganisms and I don't know why they are in the subject, e.g. round worm - Ascaris lumbricoides. Mainly in this subject, we have to study how they look like and how they produce diseases and finally how to diagnose and treat them...

Pathology is just the abnormal part of physiology (the study of how body functions), i.e. how body dysfunction, LOL. First we start of with cell injury and their abnormal conditions especially tissue death, then we enter inflammation, tumours, infectious disease (something to do with microbiology), vascular diseases etc. etc. etc.

Pharmacology is the study of drugs, which you'll come across names not limited to Paracetamol and Penicillin, but also many other cute names like Bethanecol, Ipratropium, Atropine, Digitoxin, Pancuronium, Succinyl choline, Salbutamol, Theophylline, Zafirlukast, etc. etc. Which as you can expect, is CRAZZZYYYYYY...

Then prosthodontics we'll have learn how to make dentures. And conservative dentistry we'll have to learn how to do fillings to conserve a tooth.

And finally, as a continuation of anatomy last year, we'll have oral biology. We've started carving teeth on wax block this year, I shall post the picture of the full teeth set I carved when they are ready...

I guess that's it for this time... I hope I'll have the mood to blog again soon...

So sorry for not posting anything all the while... It's the stupid internet's fault, ya, it has to be!.. Hmmph!!!

It's going to be 1 full year for me to be in India already... which means – FINALs' coming!!! There're so many things to study... So I think this is the last post before the exams...

I think I'm going back to Malaysia at mid august, can't be sure yet, stupid management can't even tell us when's our exam going to end... Incompetent idiots = I.I... LOL.

OKOK so I read back what I've written in the last Denture building post, and the second last paragraph is kinda confusing... Hahahaha... Nevermind, you'll see what I meant in this post... I think this is the last post for Denture building, it just lacked the final product part, coz I'm not done with it yet...

So... the next thing that should happen is to seal the wax pattern (base plate + occlusal rim + artificial teeth) to the cast by using wax, which I didn't show... Hehe.. And then, it's time for dearticulation... You can see the remains of the mounting plaster on the articulator... The flask is now opened (by prying it, LOL), comprises 3 parts, the one the upper cast is sitting in is the lower portion of the flask, which we'll fill it with plaster to hold the cast... Oh ya, this is the working table of my Dental Materials lab in dental college, hehe...


The cast is mounted on the lower portion of flask... By using plaster...


And then now we cover the lower portion with the middle portion (body) and then pour plaster, then finally cover it with the toppest part... This is one of the most crucial part as the plaster that's poured now will become the mould of the final product, any air bubbles trapped will be produced in the mould and ultimately in the final product... After the plaster sets, the function of the wax and base plate ends here as the shaped has already been transferred to the plaster mould... The whole flask is placed into hot water to separate the upper and lower flask, and hot water is poured into the mould to remove all the wax... This is known as dewaxing...


Thus now there's no more wax or baseplate liao, only the artificial teeth remain in the mould, a closer look at the mould... Now only the root part of the artificial teeth is seen...


The mould is ready for introduction of resin... Before that we'll hafta apply a layer of separating media to prevent the resin to stick to the plaster... Unfortunately I didn't apply enough and the upper denture turned out to be fully sticked to plaster... And a great deal of trimming is done to remove the white patches... Sigh...

The resin we use comes in powder and liquid form, which after they've been mixed will turn into a dough-like matter... We put the dough nicely into the mould and cover the other half of the flask and by using a clamp we close the flask slowly... After that the flask is reopened for removal of excess resin...


Understand? Underneath the pink resin is the artificial teeth... So the process is repeated a few times to make sure that ther's no more excess resin and finally it's closed for the last time... After waiting for 30 minutes for the pressure inside the mould to equalize (as well as for the powder and liquid to become more homogenous), we can finally "cook" the resin...

The resin is of heat-cure type, meaning that by mixing the liquid and powder alone won't turn the thing into a plastic, we'll have to HEAT it... So we'll put the assembly together with the clamp into a big pot of hot water, and the heating cycle takes hours according to book, but we just heat it for 1 hour only.. Hahaha...

And after all the heating, and letting it to cool itself, we can open to flask and break off the plaster to retrieve the denture... And as I've said earlier, I didn't apply enough separating media, so...


And now a little reunion of upper and lower denture... Hehe...


In case you asked where's the upper cast?... Again it's because of not enough separating media...

I superglued it, I hope the bitch won't bitch about it...

And so we repeat the whole process for the lower denture, starting from the flasking...


And during dewaxing, something terrible happened - the whole lower portion disintegrates, and a small part of the cast broke also... Cast broken before packing of resin = destroyed final denture... Luckily it turned out right for the outer surface... Phew... And then now the deflasking for the lower denture...


Finally... The reunion of the pair of dentures... Hehehe...


And now they are ready to be finished and polished...
