Report Part II: Hello Salem...

Preface

I'm so sorry to neglect this blog for too long... But the situation is it's getting busier over here... Haih... Cannot remain the selambaness like last time liao... Hahaha... But anyhow I'm still more selamba than anyone else really... Hei wait, I'm wrong, Akmal's more selamba than me... No one ever seen him reading books... Hahahahaha... People (especially Ah Seng) are all studying whenever there is free time... But for me... It's either I'm in front of my laptop or sleeping... Hahaha... I know that KYY will believe this very well... Hehehe...

It's so fast... It's already over one month since I've left Malaysia... Many things happened here anyway but too bad I can't crystallize it in time... As well as the memory when I've just arrived in India... Haha... Luckily I've kept a text file on the blog ideas (You can see it on my desktop from the last post), so let's start now...

Addtional infos

Just to complete what was left out in the last text report... I actually tried to use KLIA's WIFI and sent a MSN message to Wei Cheng (while waiting in the boarding room).... Hahaha... Guess that's the last MSN message I sent in Malaysia before I leave gua... Hahaha... WC gan dong boh? Haha...

And due the recent air travel I've experienced, I was quite worried when I see the room is getting crowded and we are still quite far from the gate, because I actually forgot that the seats are already allocated... Hehe...

And also, the reason for a big shock when seeing Bangalore's International Airport is: I expect no sky bridge when arriving at Bangalore (Like AirAsia, Hahaha...), but then we were disembarking through a sky bridge, then I started to have nice impression on the airport, but soon after finished walking the sky bridge, haih...

It's actually quite shocking when we look at the air ticket properly...

Guess what? You go try check online also you can't get airfare more than RM 2k one leh... And just for your information, if we buy airticket from here, it's even cheaper (Don't ask me why), our seniors who went back for two weeks just paid not more than RM 1500 for a returning ticket to Malaysia from Chennai (capital of Tamil Nadu state), including the bus bringing them to the airport and come back from here... I can't imagine why JPA paid that price for nothing (Do you think it's probably a two way ticket? Hehehe... No idea... Better keep that nicely...)... And the MAS fler actually asked us to be thankful for JPA has purchased the most expensive economic class ticket (I guess now I know what it means by most expensive economy class... Haha...)... 要帮也不用帮到那么出脸呱... (Encrypted with the world's most sophisticated algorithm, ask me for decryption key HEHEHE...)

During the flight, I was neglected twice for drinks... The stewardess just said hold on and then no drinks... Hahaha...

Here comes the main content

Where I left my story... Ahh... About the WAITING part... Yup, again I need to stress that in India, things just usually don't happen in the way it should happen or plan usually don't go as planned... Iggy's gang (Yup, I shall introduce this term because people are gang-ing up over here now... Iggy's gang = Siva, an indian which comes under private funding and is Iggy's roomate + Stephanie + Suzanne + Yasmine + Wani) together with PIDC seniors gang had experienced a fiasco with their trip to Bangalore, the bus driver just screw up the whole thing... Don't know how to say but they still go Bangalore on their own at last... If you ask me why I don't go, I'd say it's another P**** P****** case again... That's it... No more comment...

And finally... Our so called posh "coach" has arrived... It's actually two kereta keranda sized vans... They really didn't expect us to bring luggage I think... That's why the situation below occured...

Someone is actually tying up the luggage on the top of the coach... Haha... Anyhow it still can't solve the problem... You also can imagine lah.... 24 people each with at least a big luggage... So the remaining luggages were left there for other people to handle... Haih...

Another hour wasted again for them to tie the luggages and for them to solve the luggage problem... And then, I was on the other van not shown in the picture above... Which has an attractive red colour lighting... Something like err... Old-school type nightime pub... LOL. And the interior is a bit themed like their indian culture / religion style... But at least it still have a normal AC to keep us comfort... (We now know that any public transport with AC is considered very good in India, HAHAHAHA...)...

And then most cars in India have music while they reverse... Sort of funny... Haha... Some of them are hp ringtone also... Hehehe...

Then the journey begins... As I mentioned before... Their driving style is far more worse than the driver we had at Cendana... Not to mention sudden acceleration or brakes (It's very common, so hold tight while in any transport here), people here always like to over take others, no matter what: bus, lorries, autos (cute little taxis over here) or bikes... I guarantee you 101% excitement when you're on a bus, they can overtake until the opposite car have to stop completely for the overtake to complete... Or vice versa (You'll have to stop completely if you see people opposite you overtake until too close to you)... Which in short, you can say that they always drive as if it is having double lane even when there's only single lane...

No need to mention their affection for honking and high-lighting (people here drive with high light all the times, and often flashes it for don't-know-what-reason) which causes me to wake up suddenly for quite some times.... I became completely awake when the coach bumped in some kind of hole and causes my head to knock onto metal bar railing beside the window... Anyway, do you believe that people say they have low accident rate? (Please confirm this for me, I have no idea on this) Maybe Malaysian should start to drive like them... Hahaha...

During the journey, we stopped for a few times. We stopped at a petrol station for some rest and to go to the toilet... The toilet was eeeeeeew... Highly saturated with urine smell (Ya, it's saturated that urine in the toilet room will need to wait for some of the urine molecules in the air to dissipate in order to vapourise. And water molecule cannot vapourise because it's supersaturated with urine molecules. Bah... Craps... Haha.... : P)... Imagine what will happen if you can't flush in a toilet... And then for another time we stopped beside the road because for don't-know-what reason, there were more and more lorries come oppositely using our lane and keep signalling by honking and flashing the high lamp... And soon after we stopped, the road is like filled with troops of lorries driving in one direction using the both direction's lanes... It lasted for quite some time though (Weird things do happen here till I also don't wanna know what's happening, haha... Tell you what, you can find small bumps along a big road, for them it should be highway already, hahaha...) And the last time we stopped in front of road stalls... And OMG the stalls are worse than our pasar malam... Not that it's too small, just I don't know how to describe... It just simply makes you don't wanna buy things there... Hehe...

The bus journey was long, maybe because of the stops... It's around 7am when we arrived... It's getting quite bright over here when it's 6am... When it's 7am it's like 9am in Malaysia... It gets dark at around 6 sumthing too... And before it reaches 7pm it's completely dark...

Now I shall describe how our university looks like, it looked so nice on the website (http://www.vinayakamission.com/), I won't say that the pictures are fake, but there's something you all must know - Cameras don't recreate reality, I think it's an important principle in photo taking... Haha... Let's take a look at our "campus" area... Hahhaha... (I purposely colour the thing because all drawings we do must be coloured - as taught by Anatomy lecturers... LOL)

Dotted lines mean that the road is actually a long part but have been cut short... From our hostel to dental college is about 10 - 15 minutes... From the right side of the map is the way from the city or from Bangalore... For the left side, err... Should be road to nowhere.. LOL. I think the map is self-understandable, thus if the area from the white house till our hostels is the campus area, then we have a very big campus, Hahahaha... Oh no, correction, should be a very long campus... LOL.

Please note that the diagram was not drawn according to scale...

Anyway, on the way to dental college from our hostel, there's a small err... more dense zone (can't call it a town yet) because it's situated on a fork junction, which looks like this...

Maybe later only I'll take a picture of our canteen and hospital... But I think I won't go hospital again for the time being since there's no need to go online at hospital... Hehe...

And I think if you take a look at our uni's website pictures again you should know how can the picture have mountains as a background right? Haha... Again, you should notice that the buildings are all drawn as rectangles because they are all rectangular in shape... Don't know why they like to make buildings long long one... Haha...

Oh yeah, VMRF's buildings are the only magnificent buildings around the area, or I should say they are the only buildings around the area, hahahaha... I can't vividly remember the feelings during the few days... Another significant waiting experience is when we all go to the white house to meet the chancellor... Just to meet him for a while we have to sit at the hall with the blazer on for a few hours... According to people there we have to wait for him to pray... I never knew polytheism can cause such detriment - to make the whole world to wait... And we were suppose to have an evening tea, anyway we still had tea, at 9pm local time... Which we started to taste all the extremities in India, this time is too sweet, you can actually feel the sugar in the cake, and the tea is like undiluted condensed milk... Anyway, I knew that we are bound to experience the other extremities soon: too salty, too spicy, too oily, too much onion, too fragrant and etc.

I think that's the end of this report... At first I wanted to include a lot of grudges happened during the first few days, but really have forgotten what to include... I think I shall break into another post to explain what's going on here... Thanks for reading... And this is for you guys, hehe:

Taken beside the canteen... The side nearer to our hostel...
